The Altar Guild is often referred to as "God's housekeepers". The primary duty is to assist the clergy by making necessary preparations for all services held in the church.
The Altar Guild works in teams with each team responsible for one week each month. The teams meet to prepare for Sunday services. Additionally, some team members serve on Thursdays at 10 AM service. The Altar Guild is also responsible for special services such as Christmas, Easter, weddings, and funerals.
The ministry of the acolyte is to serve the clergy at the Altar. They participate primarily at the service of Holy Eucharist at 10:00 AM and on special Holy Days.
Those baptized members, from eight years of age and older, are invited to participate in this very worthwhile and rewarding ministry in the life of the church. This is a wonderful way for older children to experience and learn about the services and begin taking steps on the path of faith for their future.
The Lay Eucharistic Minister is trained and licensed to serve as chalice bearers during the litany. Eucharistic Ministers must be confirmed communicants in good standing at least 18 years of age. Those interested in becoming a Lay Eucharistic Minister must meet with the Rector first for the instruction. The deacon may provide instruction as well.
The Lay Eucharistic Visitors much be confirmed communicants in good standing at least 18 years of age. The Lay Eucharistic Vistors are given a prepared communion kit at the Sunday worship service. This kit and usually a vase of flowers are taken directly to the recipient. The typical schedule for this ministry from their primary service of attendance one or twice a month to visit shut-ins.

A lay person trained in reading scripture who is appointed by the clergy person in charge of the congregation to read lessons or lead the prayers of the people. The term is from the Latin, "to read." There is no license required for this lay ministry. A lector may also be known as a reader.
