Lessons and Carols

Sunday December 22nd at 6:00 PM

We are pleased to once again this year be presenting our Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols Christmas service the evening of Sunday December 17th, 2023. Rooted in the service developed for the Chapel of King’s College, Cambridge in 1918, this service tells the story of creation through the birth of Christ, both through the reading of Holy Scripture as well as the singing of various carols and hymns. It contains well-known Christmas hymns, and a few special choral arrangements presented by the St. Thomas Choir and Director of Music Joseph Parr.

With so many well-known Christmas Carols, the service itself is quite family friendly, and there are small activity books for younger children to keep them occupied between familiar tunes.

After the service, there will be Christmas goodies to snack on, along with hot and cold drinks available in the Parish Hall.

The service begins at 6:00 PM and will be done by 7:00 PM. Doors open at 5:30 PM.

Christmas Eve

Tuesday December 24th at 6:00 PM

Join us for this family friendly traditional Christmas Eve Mass, with the parish festively decorated with Christmas greens and poinsettias. We begin with the proclamation of Christmas, sing carols of praise and celebrate the birth in time of the timeless Son of God. At the end of the service, we dim the lights to sing by candlelight, and conclude with a joyful proclamation of Christ’s birth from St. John’s Gospel paired with another joyful carol.

Communion is celebrated, and all Baptized Christians who have examined their conscience and desire to receive the Body and Blood of Christ are welcome to come forward to receive, regardless of what tradition they currently associate themselves with. If you have questions or concerns about Communion, please contact Fr. Matthew through the parish office.

This service will use a small amount of hypoallergenic incense (pure frankincense).

The service begins at 6:00 PM and concludes at 7:30 PM. All are welcome!

For more information, please contact the parish office.

Christmas Day

Wednesday December 25th at 10:00 AM

While our Christmas Eve mass has become our principal celebration of Christ’s birth, we will continue to joyfully celebrate his birth on Christmas morning. The service is briefer than Christmas Eve, and involves a second set of readings, so that those who wish to attend both may.

The service begins at 10:00 AM and concludes around 11:00 AM. All are welcome!

For more information, please contact the parish office.
